Description
2020 Riesling Brauneberger Juffer Grosses Lage (Feinherb)
This off-dry single vineyard is given some skin contact before natural yeast fermentation in varying proportions of 1000L oak barrels and stainless steel. Here the south facing slope has yielded this wine with 10.8 g/l RS and 7.4 g/l TA, 12%.
”This tastes like an excellent GG, but with medium-dry balance. Excellent concentration and structure. Subtle ripe-peach and pear fruit, plus a ton of wet-stone character at the long, firm finish. Drink or hold.” 95 points, JamesSuckling.com, August 2021
”The 2020er Brauneberger Juffer Riesling, as it is referred to on the consumer label, is an off-dry wine (with 12 g/l of residual sugar) with a superbly smoky and fresh nose of grapefruit, lemon, almond, herbs, spices, and vineyard peach. The wine proves beautifully light and playful on the palate and leaves a superb zesty and linear spicy feel in the hugely long and already almost dry-tasting finish. It now only needs a few years of patience to develop even more complexity, but the result will be worth it. 2024-2040” 92 points, moselfinewines.com, September 2021
