Fabien Duveau La Hunaudière Saumur blanc 2023

Fabien Duveau works small parcels in the Saumur appellation south of Saumur in the central Loire. The local soils are tuffeau, the soft chalk-limestone that runs through Touraine, Anjou and Saumur and gives the region's whites their cool minerality and the reds their structured, fresh character.

The range is short — Saumur Blanc (100% Chenin) from La Hunaudière, and Saumur Champigny (100% Cabernet Franc) from the Les Menais lieu-dit.

Roast chicken, soft cheeses, white-fleshed seafood and shellfish; a working Saumur Blanc for cellar lists, by-the-glass and house-pour programs.
