Domaine Metrat is a Chiroubles producer in the Beaujolais cru zone Chiroubles being the highest-altitude of the ten Beaujolais crus, located in the Haut-Beaujolais granite hills at 300500 metres elevation, producing Gamay with the most delicate, floral, and feminine character of all the crus. The Metrat estate farms traditional Chiroubles vineyards with old-vine Gamay on the decomposed granite soils that distinguish the northern Beaujolais crus from the flatter, clay-limestone Beaujolais-Villages zone to the south.
