Dumangin
Champagne (Chigny-les-Roses, 1er Cru · Est. 1890s (Champagne house); 1645
Dumangin J. Fils is a grower-manipulant (RM) Champagne house based in Chigny-les-Roses on the Montagne de Reims a Pinot Noir-dominant premier cru village on the southern slope of the Montagne. The Dumangin family grows their own grapes on the Montagne de Reims and vinifies and blends from their own estate, which gives them grower-manipulant status and the control over terroir expression that distinguishes the RM designation from negociant houses who source externally.
With 21 expressions in the Bouchon catalogue, Dumangin is the largest Champagne house by SKU count. The range covers NV brut, blanc de blancs, rose, vintage, and their Fine de Champagne (aged distillate from Champagne grapes a regional brandy tradition outside the standard Champagne DO). For on-premise programmes building a champagne list that demonstrates the difference between grower and negociant production terroir-driven, estate-sourced, smaller-scale Dumangin provides the depth of range with documented Montagne de Reims provenance.
