Gosset
Champagne (Aÿ historically; Épernay since 2009) · Est. 1584
Gosset (Epernay) is one of the oldest Champagne houses still in continuous production the family's wine trading activity in Ay dates to 1584, making Gosset one of the founding entities of the Champagne trade. The house operates as an independent negociant, sourcing from growers across the key crus, with a particular emphasis on Pinot Noir-dominant blends and extended lees ageing before disgorgement. Gosset does not practice malolactic fermentation, which preserves higher natural acidity and gives the wine distinctive freshness and longevity.
The Gosset range at Bouchon covers the Grand Reserve NV (the house's flagship, Pinot Noir dominant), Grande Rose, and vintage expressions. Gosset's non-MLF approach means their champagnes age particularly well the Grande Reserve and vintage expressions develop significantly over 5-10 years in bottle. For on-premise programmes featuring Champagne by the glass or building a cellar-appropriate Champagne section alongside grower producers, Gosset sits at the intersection of historic house identity and quality-first production values.
