Manoir du Kinkiz, based in Quimper (Finistere, Brittany), is a certified producer under the AOC Cornouaille cidre appellation the only AOC designation for Breton cider, covering a defined geographic zone in southwestern Brittany. The Cornouaille AOC requires the use of registered regional apple varieties and specified production methods; it is one of the most rigorous quality frameworks applied to cider anywhere in France.

Breton cidre uses a distinct regional apple palette from Norman cidre, typically lighter in tannin with its own regional apple character and generally drier fermentation profile. The Cornouaille AOC gives Kinkiz unique provenance in the Bouchon cider range the only appellation-certified Breton cider in the catalogue. For programmes wanting to demonstrate the difference between Norman and Breton cider traditions (comparable to contrasting Burgundy and Loire wine approaches), Kinkiz is the Breton reference point.
