Lake Breeze
Langhorne Creek (South Australia) · Est. 1880s (vineyard); 1987 first Lake Breeze wine
Lake Breeze Wines is a family estate in Langhorne Creek (South Australia) a lakeside district east of the Fleurieu Peninsula fed by the Bremer River, known for the deep alluvial soils and mild maritime-influenced climate that produce some of South Australia's most consistent and long-lived red wines. The family has farmed the property since 1880s; the current wine programme has been running since the 1970s.
The Lake Breeze range is built around Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Merlot from the estate's deep lake-bed alluvial soils producing red wines with the characteristic Langhorne Creek combination of dark fruit, soft tannin, and generous body without excessive extraction. The Bernoota Shiraz Cabernet is the flagship blend. For programmes featuring South Australian red wine beyond Barossa and McLaren Vale, Lake Breeze provides the Langhorne Creek reference consistent, honest, genuinely cellar-worthy red wine at accessible price points.
