Rocca di Frassinello

Tuscany · Est. 2007

Rocca di Frassinello is a premium Maremma Toscana estate in Giuncarico (Grosseto province) a joint venture between Castellare di Castellina (Chianti Classico) and Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), combining Tuscan terroir knowledge with Bordeaux winemaking expertise. The estate produces Sangiovese and Cabernet-based wines from the Maremma's coastal zone: a warmer, more Mediterranean climate than inland Chianti Classico, producing riper, more full-bodied Sangiovese with Cabernet blending for structure.

The Rothschild involvement positions Rocca di Frassinello at the prestige end of Maremma production a zone that has attracted significant international investment following the success of Sassicaia (Bolgheri). For programmes wanting a premium Maremma Toscana reference with international ownership credibility and Bordeaux-trained winemaking, Rocca di Frassinello provides the most direct Lafite-adjacent Italian wine narrative in the Bouchon catalogue.
