Castello Di Cigagnola Dodicidodici 2017

Castello di Cigognola sits in the Oltrepò Pavese DOC zone in southern Lombardy, an area widely planted to Pinot Nero (Italy's largest concentration of the variety) and the local Croatina, bottled as Bonarda dell'Oltrepò Pavese. The estate's medieval castle anchors the village of Cigognola.

The Dodicidodici cuvée is the estate's headline Bonarda, named for the year (12 December) the estate was founded. The Barberasso is a Barbera-led red. The estate also makes Pinot Nero traditional-method sparkling wine.

Roast chicken, duck breast, mushroom risotto and aged Fontina; a cellar-list Oltrepò Pinot Nero for 3-8 years' cellaring.
