Arcane is a Mauritius rum brand from the Médine distillery, one of the island's oldest sugar and rum producers, on the northwest coast of Mauritius. Mauritius rum is produced from sugar cane molasses (unlike the French West Indian agricole tradition of fresh cane juice) and aged in the island's tropical climate where the combination of heat and humidity accelerates evaporation and maturation compared to European or North American warehousing. Arcane focuses on premium aged expressions and the Extraroma Solera (a blended rum matured using a fractional blending system).

The Arcane range at Bouchon is led by the Extraroma Solera a multi-age blend producing a rum with progressive layering of vanilla, dried fruit, and tropical wood notes. As a Mauritius production (Indian Ocean, former French colony, French-influenced production tradition), Arcane occupies a distinct geographic and stylistic position in the rum range: warmer and more fruit-forward than Martinique agricole, more refined than standard Caribbean molasses rum, with the Solera method adding further complexity.
