Cantina Tramin
Cantina Tramin (Kellerei Tramin) is the cooperative winery of Termeno (Tramin in German), a village in Alto Adige / Südtirol whose name is synonymous with the Gewurztraminer grape the village is widely believed to be the grape's place of origin. The cooperative farms from member vineyards on the volcanic porphyry and limestone slopes around Termeno, producing the area's signature Gewurztraminer (including the famous Nussbaumer single-vineyard expression) alongside Pinot Grigio, Pinot Nero, and Lagrein.
The Nussbaumer Gewurztraminer from Cantina Tramin is one of Italy's most internationally recognised single-vineyard whites: intensely aromatic (rose petal, lychee, spice), with the structure and concentration to age. For programmes wanting to offer Gewurztraminer in its most expressive form from the variety's putative home village Cantina Tramin's Nussbaumer provides the benchmark. The cooperative's broader range covers the full Alto Adige white and red spectrum at accessible price points.
