Château Barthes is a Bandol estate in the Bandol AOC (Var, Provence), producing both the appellation's structured red (minimum 50% Mourvèdre, minimum 18 months oak ageing) and the dry white (Clairette, Bourboulenc, Marsanne). Bandol Rouge is one of Provence's most serious and age-worthy red wines: the Mourvèdre requirement and mandatory extended ageing produce reds with tannin structure, dark fruit, and a 1020 year ageing trajectory far beyond most Provençal red wine.
