The Dalmore is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky distillery on the north shore of the Cromarty Firth in Alness, Ross-shire one of the established Northern Highlands distilleries with a long history of sherry cask maturation. The distillery is particularly known for its use of premium Spanish sherry casks: Apostoles, Matusalem, and González Byass sherry casks at the premium tier, producing Dalmore's characteristically rich, chocolate and orange-peel character. The 12-year, 15-year, and King Alexander III are the principal commercial expressions.

Dalmore occupies the premium-accessible tier of Highland single malt: immediately approachable in character (high sweetness, dried-fruit weight from sherry-cask maturation), well-distributed, and with clear age-statement expressions that communicate quality positioning to new Scotch drinkers. The sherry-cask character makes Dalmore suitable as a bridge expression between entry-level blended Scotch and more complex single malts, and as a digestif alternative to cognac for guests who favour sweeter, fruit-forward aged spirits.
