Glann ar Mor

Brittany · Est. 2005

Glann ar Mor (Breton: 'edge of the sea') is a small Breton distillery located on the Presqu'ile de Batz on the north Brittany coast, producing peated and unpeated single malt whisky using traditional direct-fired copper pot stills and worm-tub condensers. The distillery uses floor-malted barley and traditional Scottish distillation methods transplanted to the French Atlantic coast making it the primary single malt whisky producer in Brittany.

Their Kornog range (Breton: 'west wind') covers the peated single malt expression, with the Kornog Sant Ivy single cask releases representing the top of the range. As the only significant Breton single malt whisky producer, Glann ar Mor occupies a unique position in the French whisky landscape alongside the Alsatian and Normandy producers. For programmes building a French whisky section or featuring the European craft single malt category, Glann ar Mor is the Atlantic-coast Breton reference.
