La Salamandre
Périgord Noir (Sarlat-la-Canéda, Dordogne) · Est. 1970
La Salamandre is a Perigord liqueur producer from the Dordogne, specialising in liqueurs made from regional fruits of the Perigord quince (coing), walnut (noix), prune, and other distinctive Dordogne agricultural products. The Perigord is France's most celebrated walnut region and a major quince-growing area; La Salamandre sources from this regional tradition to produce fruit-based liqueurs outside the mainstream Alsace or Burgundy liqueur categories.
The range covers Liqueur de Coing (quince), Liqueur de Noix (walnut), and other Perigord fruit preparations. For on-premise programmes building a French regional liqueur selection or wanting unusual fruit preparations beyond the standard Alsatian and Burgundian cremes, La Salamandre provides the Dordogne/Perigord perspective particularly the quince and walnut expressions, which are rarely found in Australian distribution from a dedicated regional producer.
