Luxardo
Veneto (Torreglia, Padua) · Est. 1821
Luxardo is one of the oldest spirits brands in Italy the Luxardo family has produced Maraschino from Marasca cherries since 1821 (originally in Zadar, Dalmatia; now in Torreglia, Veneto). Maraschino is the original cherry liqueur: distilled from the crushed pits and flesh of Marasca cherries, sweetened to around 32% ABV, with a distinctive dry cherry-stone character that sets it apart from sweeter cherry cremes. Luxardo Maraschino is the standard formulation for classic cocktails that call for the ingredient.
The Luxardo range at Bouchon covers Maraschino Originale (the 200-year-old recipe), Maraschino Sangue Morlacco (the cherry-blood variant), and Triplum Italian triple sec. For cocktail programmes building period-accurate classic drinks, Luxardo Maraschino is the required ingredient in the Aviation, Last Word, and Hemingway Daiquiri. For Italian-focused digestif service, the Maraschino and Sangue Morlacco provide the full Luxardo range alongside the Italian liqueur producers.
