Paul Bara

Champagne · Est. 1833

Paul Bara is a grower-manipulant (RM) Champagne producer based in Bouzy a Grand Cru village on the eastern Montagne de Reims, classified 100% for both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Bouzy is one of the most coveted Grand Cru terroirs in the appellation for Pinot Noir; it is also the origin of Bouzy Rouge, the still red Coteaux Champenois wine that demonstrates what Bouzy Pinot Noir looks like unblended.

The Paul Bara range covers the Brut Reserve Grand Cru (100% Bouzy Pinot Noir-based NV), Comtesse Marie de France (prestige cuvee), Special Club vintage, and occasional rose expressions. As a Bouzy Grand Cru grower, Paul Bara's champagnes have a distinctive weight and red-fruit richness from the Pinot Noir-dominant terroir distinct from the lighter Chardonnay-forward styles. For on-premise programmes building a grower champagne selection that demonstrates Grand Cru terroir diversity, Paul Bara provides the Bouzy (Montagne de Reims Pinot Noir) reference point.
