Willett Distillery
Kentucky (Bardstown, Nelson County) · Est. 1936 (Willett Distillery); family distilling in
Willett Distillery is a family-owned Kentucky bourbon and rye distillery in Bardstown the Willett/Kulsveen family's estate, operating from the original distillery site that was mothballed for decades. The distillery was revived for production in 2012 after the family spent years as a négociant (Kentucky Bourbon Distillers), selecting and bottling aged stocks from other Kentucky distilleries under labels including Rowan's Creek, Noah's Mill, and the Family Estate Bottled single-barrel series. The Family Estate Bottled Single Barrel Bourbon and Rye now distilled on-site are the current premium expressions.
The Willett Family Estate Bottled range represents the premium artisan tier of American whiskey: single barrels, cask-strength, with barrel-specific age statements and barrel numbers. The combination of estate-grown character and the family's long tradition of cask selection produces bourbon and rye with a distinct profile from the large Kentucky distillery houses. For programmes building a serious American whiskey section covering both established distillery names and the artisan/independent tier Willett provides the family-estate single-barrel benchmark at the premium end of the bourbon/rye category.
