Bonnaire Cramant Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs 2014

Champagne Bonnaire was founded in Cramant in 1932 by Fernand Bouquement. After the war he was joined by his son-in-law Andre Bonnaire, whose name the house now carries; Andre's son Jean-Louis built its reputation across the Cote des Blancs, and his sons Jean-Etienne and Jean-Emmanuel are the fourth generation running it today.

Cramant is one of the finest Chardonnay crus in Champagne, and the Bonnaire family are among the largest Grand Cru vineyard owners in the village. The holding runs to roughly 22 hectares, mostly Chardonnay, spread over some 75 separate plots averaging thirty-five to forty years of age, farmed under certified sustainable viticulture with a growing block of certified organic Chardonnay.

The house is a Blanc de Blancs specialist: taut, chalky, long-ageing Chardonnay from a single Grand Cru village, in both non-vintage and vintage form.
