Castro Ventosa Valtuille Joven 2023

Bierzo sits in the north-western corner of Castilla y León, in a transitional zone between the Atlantic and continental climates. Mencía grown on the steep slate hillsides of Valtuille shows a perfumed, mineral character quite different from the grape grown on the lower valley floor. Castro Ventosa works vine parcels of varying age — including old vines planted before mechanisation — and releases wines at different tiers from Joven to the longer-aged El Castro de Valtuille range.
