"Henri Ramonteu took over the family parcels in 1980 and built Domaine Cauhapé into the recognised reference for Jurançon, the south-western French appellation in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The estate covers around 40 hectares planted predominantly to Petit Manseng (the higher-acid, late-ripening variety used for the appellation's headline sweet wines) and Gros Manseng (the dry-wine workhorse, with Gros Manseng Sec gaining in international currency).

Foie gras, Roquefort and aged Pyrénéan hard cheeses, crème brûlée; a cellar-tier late-harvest Jurançon for laying down 8-15 years.
