Dos Maderas — "Two Woods" — is the Williams & Humbert house's rum project, run out of the Bodegas Williams & Humbert solera cellars in Jerez. Williams & Humbert is one of the major sherry houses; the Dos Maderas concept takes Caribbean rum (sourced from Barbados and Guyana) and ages it twice: first the standard tropical ageing in the Caribbean origin, then a second ageing in Andalucía using ex-sherry casks from the Williams & Humbert cellars themselves.

The numbers explain the line: the 5J is 5 years tropical + 3 years Spain. The PX is 5 + 5, the second ageing happening in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks — heavily sweet, raisined, dark. The Selección Luxus runs the full programme: 5 years Caribbean, then 5 years in oloroso, then 3 years in PX, then 2 final years in Don Guido VORS PX casks. Each step adds a different sherry character, and the final spirit reads more like a heavily oloroso-influenced rum than a Caribbean dark.
