Chateau Arton La Flamme 2015 10 Year Haut-Armagnac Cask Strength Organic 47.6% 700ml

Chateau Arton lies on the Lectoure plateau in the Gers, at the northern end of Haut-Armagnac — the largest of the three Armagnac regions by area and by far the smallest by production, most of its vines never having returned after phylloxera. Patrick de Montal and Victoire de Montesquiou came back to the family land after some twenty years in Paris, and were among the first to replant there, from 1991.

The estate's mark on the region is out of proportion to its size: Patrick de Montal created Fine Blanche in 1985, the unaged white Armagnac that became the basis of today's Blanche d'Armagnac appellation. The vineyard is farmed without chemical treatment, on permaculture principles, and the range runs from that white spirit through the younger Reserve to single-vintage casks such as La Flamme.
