Clos du Caillou Côtes du Rhône Le Bouquet des Garrigues 2020

"Le Clos du Caillou sits at Courthézon, on the eastern edge of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The estate's curious history is that part of its vineyard, which sits inside what is now Châteauneuf-du-Pape, was excluded from the appellation when it was demarcated in 1936 — the family wouldn't permit the surveyors onto the property because the owner was hunting. Only the parcels within the appellation boundary today carry the AOC.

Grilled lamb chops, herbed chicken, summer charcuterie and Provençal cuisine; a working entry-tier Southern Rhône red for by-the-glass programs.
