On the palate

A blend of approximately 54% Mourvedre, 25% Cinsault, 19% Grenache and 2% Clairette from Alain Pascal's 17 hectares of organically farmed vineyards on the limestone-clay slopes of La Cadiere d'Azur. All grapes are hand harvested and sorted, macerated on skins for 24 hours at 10 degrees, then pressed and fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness and varietal purity. Pale salmon in colour. The nose is floral and expressive — ripe nectarine, toasted almond, white cherry, strawberry, blood orange and fresh herbs with a whisper of sea salt and a rosemary and thyme undercurrent. The palate is broad-shouldered and layered, structured yet refreshing with watermelon, red berries, citrus pith and a subtle peppery kick, finishing long with saline-mineral backbone. 91 points, Vinous Media. 91 points, Wine Spectator. One of Bandol's benchmark roses from a standout producer in the Kermit Lynch portfolio.
