La Cofradia 'Cactus' Reposado 40% 750ml

Tequilera La Cofradía was founded in 1970 in Jalisco, Mexico, on the outskirts of the town of Tequila and on the slopes of the Tequila Volcano — both within the Tequila DOC zone. The distillery has been family-run for over 50 years. La Cofradía operates a traditional production model: stone-lined brick ovens (hornos) for slow-cooking the agave hearts, milling in tahonas/molinos, natural fermentation without added yeasts, and double distillation in stainless-steel pot stills with copper tubing. The volcano-slope location gives the distillery direct access to the rich blue-agave fields of the Tequila highlands.

Beyond its own La Cofradía brand, the distillery serves as the contract-production site for several third-party tequila brands — Casa Noble and Clase Azul (a separately-profiled producer in this catalogue) both have their tequila distilled at La Cofradía under its NOM 1137 designation. The own-label La Cofradía range is distinguished by hand-painted ceramic decanters, with the distillery's on-site Tradición Mazahua connection mirroring Clase Azul's. The distillery hosts the Museo de Sitio del Tequila and the cavernous La Taberna del Cofrade restaurant for visitors.
