Ruchè is a low-yielding variety producing wines with vivid aromas of rose petals, violet and spice, with firm structure once the tannins resolve. The DOCG covers only six communes in Monferrato, and Montalbera is among the larger estate holders within the zone. The estate also grows Grignolino d'Asti and Barbera d'Asti from the surrounding hillside vineyards. The Fuori Catalogo expression is an outside-the-main-range bottling, typically a single-vineyard or experimental batch.
