Elderton Wines is a Barossa Valley estate based in Nuriootpa, founded by the Ashmead family in 1984. The estate is built around a block of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon planted in 1894 among the oldest surviving ungrafted vines in Australia which forms the basis of the flagship Command Shiraz, consistently one of Australia's most collected and highly scored red wines. The Barossa floor's deep alluvial soils, warm continental climate, and the century-plus of vine age combine to produce wines of exceptional concentration and density.

The Elderton range spans from the estate-level Ashmead Cabernet Sauvignon and Command Shiraz at the prestige tier, through the Friends & Family range and Ode to Lorraine (Cabernet Merlot) at mid-tier, to the entry Estate range. For on-premise programmes featuring Australian Shiraz at the prestige level, Command Shiraz is one of the natural inclusions with 130-year-old vine provenance, Nuriootpa floor terroir, and a consistent critical record. The estate range provides entry and mid-tier Barossa at accessible by-the-glass price points.
