Cantina Tramin Lagrein Alto Adige DOC 2017

100% Lagrein, the indigenous red grape variety of Alto Adige, sourced from estate vineyards in the Tramin cooperative on SW-facing slopes between 250 and 450 metres above sea level. Destemmed and fermented in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, with malolactic fermentation and 7-10 months ageing in large wooden barrels. Deep purple-ruby in the glass with a bouquet of violets, dark berries, cherries and plums with fine spice notes. The palate is rich and velvety with impressive texture — layers of ripe raspberry, dark cherry, dark chocolate, liquorice and spice underpinned by a powerful structure, silky tannins and a long, aromatic finish. Pairs beautifully with hearty Tyrolean cuisine.
