Rum Profile 107 Neisson 53.8% 700ml

Neisson works from the Domaine Thieubert at Le Carbet, on Martinique's north-west coast under the shadow of Mont Pelee. Adrien Neisson bought twenty hectares of the Thieubert estate in 1931, and the distillery was running with his brother Jean soon after. It is still in the family: Jean's daughter Claudine Neisson-Vernant and her son Gregory run it today.

It remains small — well under half a million bottles a year, most of it white rhum at 50% and above. Cane is cut in the fields around the distillery and crushed fresh, and the spirit comes off a Savalle creole column installed in 1952. The estate began converting its cane to organic farming in 2013. Neisson's whites are among the references for Martinique rhum agricole: oily, grassy and intensely cane-driven.
