Description
Port Phillip Estate Balnarring Pinot Noir — single-vineyard Pinot from the Balnarring estate site, distinct from the Red Hill home block.
Made at Port Phillip Estate in Red Hill (Mornington Peninsula, Victoria), on the volcanic-loam home block with additional fruit from Balnarring and Tuerong; the Quartier sub-label runs as a celebration of Mornington Peninsula sub-regional terroir. Single-vineyard Balnarring Pinot, whole-bunch ferment portion, French-oak maturation; sits at the cellar-tier of the house's Pinot program.
Nose: Concentrated dark cherry, rose petal, baking spice, forest-floor. Palate: Dense fruit weight balanced by fine-line tannin and structured acidity. Finish: Very long, structured, savoury.
Pairing: Cellar-list Pinot; pairs with roast duck, game birds, aged hard cheeses; lay down 5–10 years.
