Torrevento E` Arte Nero di Troia 2023

The Liantonio family operates Torrevento from a sixteenth-century monastic complex at Corato, in the Murge plateau north-west of Bari. The estate covers around 350 hectares, with the bulk of plantings on the limestone-rich uplands near the thirteenth-century Castel del Monte fortress.

The portfolio leans on the local Nero di Troia (the dominant red of the Castel del Monte DOCG) and Aglianico, joined by Primitivo, Negroamaro and white Chardonnay and Bombino Bianco. The estate also bottles the indigenous Moscato Reale di Trani.

Pizza, pasta al ragù, grilled sausages, antipasti and aged Pecorino; a working by-the-glass Apulian red for cellar and restaurant programs.
