Lemercier is a Pontarlier absinthe distillery operating from the same historic production zone as Emile Pernot the Doubs valley in the Franche-Comte that was the centre of the pre-ban French absinthe industry. The Lemercier range focuses on the traditional Pontarlier method: grande wormwood, green anise, Florence fennel, secondary botanicals, distilled in copper alembic stills and coloured by natural chlorophyll maceration in the verte presentations.

Lemercier provides a Pontarlier alternative within the same historic production centre as Emile Pernot useful for programmes wanting to demonstrate how the same raw materials and the same geography produce different house interpretations. Their range covers standard verte and blanche, with specific heritage and recipe expressions. For traditional absinthe service (cold water, slow dilution, louche), both Pontarlier producers follow the same ritual; the difference is house character and botanical emphasis within a shared tradition.
