Description
Togouchi Single Cask Mizunara is a rare and refined Japanese single malt from the Sakurao Distillery in Hiroshima. Crafted from 100% malted barley and double-distilled—first in a pot still, then in a hybrid still—it is matured for five years in first-fill Mizunara oak casks, renowned for imparting complex and distinctive flavors. The whisky is aged in a unique underground tunnel cellar, maintaining a constant 14°C temperature and 80% humidity, which contributes to its exceptional depth and aromatic complexity.
Bottled at 51.1% ABV and unchill-filtered, this limited-edition release offers a rich nose with notes of beetroot, smoked cheese, and nuts. The palate is indulgent, featuring flavors of caramel, banana, and chestnut, leading to a balanced finish with hints of caramel, nuts, and delicate peat .
