Woodlands Clementine Eloise Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Woodlands Clementine Eloise — single-vineyard Brook Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, a single-name expression at the cellar-pinnacle of the house's Cabernet program.

Made by the Watson family at Woodlands (planted 1973), one of the original five Margaret River vineyards in Wilyabrup. Two estate sites: the Caves Road home block and Brook Vineyard on Puzey Road (acquired 2007). Single-vineyard Brook Cabernet Sauvignon, French-oak matured for extended period; the Eloise expression sits with Chloe Anne as the house's named-line Cabernets.

Nose: Concentrated blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, fine pencil-shavings, faint tobacco. Palate: Dense Cabernet structure with fine-line tannin and integrated French oak. Finish: Very long, structured, savoury.

Pairing: Cellar-list bottle; pairs with slow-cooked beef and aged cheeses; lay down 10–20+ years.
