On the palate

A single pot still rum distilled in 2003 in a double retort pot still at Long Pond, Trelawny, Jamaica, and aged 15 years in the tropics. TECA is the Long Pond ester mark for 1,200 to 1,300 grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol. Drawn from nine barrels, it was bottled at 63% in 2018 by National Rums of Jamaica and released through Velier and La Maison du Whisky. La Maison du Whisky lists blood orange, chocolate, coffee, peony and elderberry on the nose, then iris, lavender and lilac on the palate before a long, bitter-acidic finish.
