On the palate

A vintage rhum agricole from the Neisson distillery at Le Carbet, Martinique, founded in 1932. Distilled in 2005 on a Creole column still, it was filled into ex-bourbon barrels on 30 November that year and bottled at 49.7% after 12 years, in a release of 1,742 bottles. La Maison du Whisky, which listed it as ref. 53044A, notes cocoa, candied fruit, cinnamon and ginger on the nose, with wood and dried fruit following.
