Rum

Rum is the most fragmented spirit category we represent — five regulatory frameworks, four base materials, seven distinct house traditions sit on the same shelf. Bouchon represents twelve houses across the working spread:

AOC Martinique rhum agricole — fresh-pressed cane juice, traceable by parcel, the most regulated rum framework in the world. We carry Saint James (1765, Sainte-Marie, the oldest dated brand), Depaz (1917 rebuild on Mont Pelée's volcanic slopes), and Rhum J.M (Macouba, north-tip Atlantic, the experimental Atelier programme).

Marie-Galante rhum agricole — small island south of Guadeloupe, outside AOC Martinique, distinctively higher-proof Caribbean tradition. Bielle (1769, soft 40% to vintage 52%) and Père Labat (steam-powered cane press, signature 59% Blanc).

Haitian rhum — Barbancourt, distilled with Cognac technique on cane juice since 1862, family-owned for five generations.

Independent bottlers — Compagnie des Indes, the deepest Caribbean shelf we carry. 29 single-cask and curated-blend SKUs covering Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, Guyana, Belize, Panama, Cuba and the rest. Florent Beuchet selects each cask personally.

Saint Lucia long-age — Admiral Rodney, the Saint Lucia Distillers premium line, named for the 1782 Battle of the Saintes. Coffey-still molasses base, long tropical ageing, an annual cask-finishing programme.

Indian Ocean — Arcane (Mauritius, 13 SKUs from white through cask-strength single barrels) and Rivière du Mât (Réunion, French overseas IG framework, softer profile from longer Indian Ocean ageing).

Solera and finishing — Dos Maderas, the rum project of Bodegas Williams & Humbert in Jerez. Caribbean base aged twice: first in the tropics, then in actual PX and oloroso casks from a working sherry house.

Plus the unusual — Sortilège (Quebec maple + Canadian whisky liqueur, listed adjacent because the use cases overlap).

Method

Pit your cherries and muddle at the bottom of a tin shaker. Add all other ingredients and shake with crushed ice. Open pour into double rocks glass. Garnish with fresh cherry and edible rose of Sharon flowers!

5 Dashes Orange Bitters
Method

Add all ingredients with a little bit of ice to a mixing glass. Stir well and strain into a chilled goblet with fresh ice. Put the orange twist and some coffee beans on top and enjoy! Photo credit: @thehomemixologist

Method

Garnish: Decorative Flowers Add all ingredients from the Rum down to the Bitters to a shaker. Fill with ice and shake until cold. Strain into ice-filled highball glass. Add one spray pump of orange blossom water over the top, add a pretty decorative flower and an environmentally friendly straw if you desire. Cheers!

25ml Pomegranate Syrup
25ml Mix of Lime/Lemon Juice
10ml Espresso Liqueur

Method

1 barspoon Cane Sugar
Method

Soak the sugar with the bitters in an old fashioned glass. Add 3 ice cubes and half of the rum. Stir to dilute and blend. Add more ice cubes and the rest of the rum. Stir to obtain the desired dilution. Garnish with orange zest and flambèed cinnamon stick. Photo credit: @spiritselite @hserhum

Method

Fever-Tree Ginger Beer @fevertreeaustralia Muddle 3 strawberries with grenadine in a tall glass and set aside. In a shaker add both rums, and lime and shake with ice. Strain into a glass over ice and top up with half lemonade and half ginger beer. Garnish with a strawberry. Cheers🍹⁠

15ml Vedrenne Strawberry Syrup @vedrenne_liqueurs_syrups
22.5ml Fresh Lime Juice
50ml J.M Blanc (White) Rum @rhumjmofficiel
Method

Garnish: Mint Sprigs & Strawberry To a glass, add strawberry syrup, lime juice, mint leaves, rum, with ice and stir until mixed. Top up with soda and more ice. Garnish with mint sprigs and strawberries.

15ml Creme de Cocoa (Dark)
30ml Half & Half
2 tsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
Method

Optional Garnish: Bananas, Chocolate Drip, Whipped Cream, Sprinkles, Chocolate Covered Banana Slices In a blender add all ingredients (minus garnish) with ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into glass and garnish accordingly Enjoy! Glass Garnish: place slices of banana on the inside of the glass. Place in the freezer for 15 mins or until firm. Melt chocolate and a little bit of coconut oil until drippy consistency. Remove glass from freezer and generously dip the rim into the chocolate, flip over and tap for dripping chocolate. Gently add more chocolate with a spoon and place in the freezer until hard. Dip the top of the rim into chocolate again and dip into sprinkles. Place back in the freezer for ready to serve!

Method

2 Charred Pineapple Rings Muddle charred pineapple rings in a shaker. Add rest of ingredient with ice and shake to chill. Double strain into a hurricane glass over crushed ice. Garnish with two pineapple fronds, a charred pineapple slice, and a dehydrated lime wheel.

Method

Muddle the pineapple, Agave and lime in a cocktail shaker. Add the other ingredients and shake with ice. Strain over crushed ice and garnish with an extra sprinkle of brown sugar and all the other goodies. Grilled Pineapple: Sprinkle rings of pineapple with brown sugar on both sides. Gently massage the sugar to combine with the pineapple juices. Grill until you get sexy grill marks and the pineapple is heated through.

Method
